Reconciliation Paper (Bundle of 5 Cards)
This handmade paper came about when we found ourselves with an abundance of paper goods we could no longer use because of a fraught situation. As we reflected on what to do, we realized we could repurpose it to make something completely new and beautiful by tearing it to shreds, drowning it in water, grinding it into a pulp and then lovingly spreading it onto a screen, gently pressing out the excess water, carefully placing the new sheet onto a piece of wood, and waiting for it to dry in the sun. Thus, our Reconciliation Paper was born.
In the spirit of renewal, we invite you to use our paper to write, draw, doodle, or otherwise record some kind of reconciliation you want to bring to your life. This reconciliation could be in relation to yourself -- think negative self-talk, to others -- a strained or damaged relationship, and most importantly to Earth -- acknowledging your own, your cultural or ancestral misuse of the land, plants, animals, or other beings.
In honor of the five Earth elements, each order includes a bundle of five cards.
The cards are fully handmade, so each piece is unique in texture, color, and size (approx. 3x5”). Larger pieces are available upon request.
